MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman was shot in the leg Thursday morning during a robbery in southwest Miami-Dade County.
The incident was reported about 11:30 a.m. in the area of Southwest 72nd Avenue and Southwest 80th Street as Xiu Li Wang, 33, was walking home from a nearby retail store.

Police said the robber demanded that Wang give him her purse. They said Wang struggled with the man and was shot in the leg.
The man then took off with her purse, driving away in a white four-door Chevrolet.
Wang was taken to South Miami Hospital in stable condition.
