The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Tara Rosado, 26, and Carlos Ortiz, 30, were found shot dead inside their house, discovered by Rosado's children, who are ages 3, 4 and 8.

"I saw the kids running up and down the street in the rain," neighbor Travis Kvadus said.
Kvadus told Local 10 News gunshots rang out late Thursday night. The next day, the children found the scene and tried to wake their mother up. They later ran out into the street to find help.
"They said, 'Mommy and him are dead.' And I said, 'Are you sure they're not sleeping?' And they said, 'No, there's blood.' And I said, 'Well, let's go take a look,'" Kvadus said.
Kvadus said he went in and found a grisly scene -- Rosado and Ortiz dead inside their bedroom. He said he took the kids to his house to keep them distracted before police arrived.
"The 8-year-old is very smart. He knew what was up," Kvadus said.
On Friday, detectives converged on the green house on Cuba Street.
"Our crime scene techs will do their jobs as far as processing the scene," Maj. Chad Scibilia said. "I've got about four detectives out there tracking down leads, neighbors, things of that nature, follow up and we'll go from there."
Records show Ortiz had a criminal past, including charges for armed robbery, marijuana trafficking and pot possession. It's unclear if any of that has to do with his death. The motive for the incident is still unknown.
"We don't rule anything out," Scibilia said.
Crime scene tape still surrounded the home Saturday. Neighbors were hoping Saturday night an arrest would be made soon. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-364-TIPS.
