Bradley Dorman accused of shooting his mother inside Coral Springs home

Marilyn Bevins, 60, shot multiple times last month

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The son of a woman who was found with gunshot wounds inside her Coral Springs home last month has been arrested in connection with the killing.

Bradley Dorman, 31, was arrested Tuesday night while attempting to board a flight to New York at Palm Beach International Airport with a one-way ticket, the Bevins' family attorney, Guy Fronstin, said.

"The Bevins family remain in deep mourning, but wish to thank the Coral Springs Police Department for working around the clock to solve the murder of Marilyn," Fronstin said. "The arrest of Marilyn's son (from a previous marriage), Bradley Dorman, complicates the family's grieving process but the family is confident that Bradley is responsible for Marilyn's murder."

The shooting was reported about 4 a.m. Oct. 27 at Bevins' home in the 4700 block of Northwest 87 Lane.

Police said Bevins, 60, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to Broward Health North, where she was pronounced dead.

Multiple family members who were inside the home at the time were questioned in her death. It wasn't immediately clear why detectives believe that Dorman was responsible for the shooting.

Dorman is charged with second-degree murder.
