TAVERNIER, Fla. – A Florida Keys man was arrested Sunday night after he forced his way inside his ex-girlfriend's Tavernier home and punched a woman in the face, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Stephen Shea, 52, is accused of storming into the home Sunday and ransacking the kitchen.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said a woman who was visiting the home told the investigating deputy that Shea was angry at her for visiting his ex-girlfriend, so he hit her with his elbow and punched her in the face.

Herrin said Shea knocked items off the kitchen counter and broke the laundry room door.

Shea faces charges of burglary, battery and criminal mischief.
