MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – One person is dead after a police-involved shooting in southwest Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade police said the shooting happened Tuesday morning along a canal bank near Southwest 127th Avenue and Southwest 206th Terrace.

Police said the suspect was killed.

Sky 10 was above the scene as a body was covered by a yellow tarp.

A gun could also be seen in the road a few feet from the body.

Another crime scene at a nearby Wendy's restaurant could be connected.

"I was coming back from the store and I heard, one of my neighbors told me, that someone robbed Wendy's and got shot," nearby resident Amanda Cabral told Local 10 News.
