MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating after someone shot and killed a 15-year-old boy as he walked home from school.
It happened on Northwest 14th Avenue near Northwest 77th Street at about 3:50 p.m.
Police said a car approached the teen, but it's not clear if the gunshots came from the car or from nearby. They said several shots were fired.
Neighbors told Local 10 News the boy was a student at Miami Northwestern Senior High School.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews took the teen to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police are asking for information about the car or other details related to the shooting.
