Family wants answers after FIU student found dead at hotel

Kellie Fullilove dies at hotel where Phi Gamma Delta held party

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – An attorney for the family of a Florida International University student who died while attending an off-campus fraternity party said her parents want answers.

Kellie Fullilove, 19, was found dead Sunday at the Bahia Mar hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

FIU's Phi Gamma Delta chapter was suspended after her death. The frat hosted a party at the hotel that Fullilove attended.

Miami attorney Michael Grieco, who represents Fullilove's parents, said there has been little information about what happened to their daughter.

"They don't have any information that makes them angry at any specific person or specific organization, but they, at the same time, they want some answers," Grieco told Local 10 News.

Grieco said he believes alcohol was involved, but there is no proof that drugs were a factor in her death.

"At this point there is no evidence that drugs were involved, or at least excessive drugs involved," Grieco said. "There's no evidence that she has any history of drug use, and the family and I both take issue with that."
