Both teens were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Shania Lowery didn't want to show her face after being released from the hospital, but she showed Local 10 News her bullet wounds.

Kim Lowery said she was waiting for Shania Lowery in her car to take her to cheerleading practice when someone opened fire.

"All we heard was the gunshots, and I just froze," Kim Lowery said.

Kim Lowery said her daughter was just walking to the car.

"She didn't fall to the ground," Kim Lowery said. "She didn't try to run to the car. She tried to run to the house and that's when she got shot."

Shania Lowery was released from the hospital late Friday night and said bullet fragments remain in her legs.

The shooter or shooters haven't been caught.
