Arrest made in Miami-Dade shooting that injured 2 teenagers
Isaiah Bailey, 17, faces felony charge of attempted murder
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police arrested a 17-year-old boy Monday in connection with a shooting that injured two teenagers Friday in northwest Miami-Dade County.
Isaiah Bailey faces a felony charge of attempted murder with a firearm in the shooting at Northwest 57th Street and Northwest 24th Avenue.
Shania Lowery, 15, was shot in the leg and Dayton Davis, 16, was grazed by a bullet.
Miami-Dade police said the victims knew the suspect and that they attended the same schools in the past.
Police said Lowery and Davis were in front of the residence when they heard gunshots.
Kim Lowery said she was waiting for her daughter when the shots were fired.
"All we heard was the gunshots, and I just froze," Kim Lowery said. "(Shania) didn't fall to the ground. She didn't try to run to the car. She tried to run to the house and that's when she got shot."
Shania Lowery later identified Bailey as the gunman from a school photograph.
Police said Bailey admitted that he was in the area at the time of the shooting.
