A Broward Sheriff's Office deputy patrolling near Fort Lauderdale heard the shots about 4:20 a.m. Nov. 25. As the deputy arrived, people were leaving the club and scattering while Rogers lay motionless in the parking lot.

Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Through the investigation, detectives determined Rogers and his friends were confronted by members of a local gang as they left the club. Awince Lasseur, 27, got into an argument that escalated into a fistfight. Lasseur beat Rogers until he lay unconscious on the ground.

Dieuphen Joseph, 27, joined in the beating by hitting Rogers repeatedly on the head with a bottle and Peudritto Joseph, 32, stomped on his head right before Petit shot him in the chest.

Investigators obtained arrest warrants for all four of the people involved. Lasseur was found in Plantation and arrested without incident on Nov. 28. Awince Joseph was arrested in Jacksonville on Nov. 29. Dieuphen Joseph was arrested in Deerfield Beach on Nov. 30. Petit was arrested in the Orlando area on Wednesday.

Lasseur and the Joseph brothers all face a charge of second-degree murder. Petit has been booked into the BSO main jail.
