CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A South Florida man was arrested Monday after he stabbed a co-worker who confronted him about stealing a package that had been delivered to work, police said.

Carlos Walker, 38, of Lauderdale Lakes, was arrested by Coral Springs police on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

According to a police report, David Figueroa suspected Walker of stealing a package that had been delivered to their workplace, Beautiful Things Lighting.

Walker denied taking or even seeing the missing package, and after exchanging text messages about it, Figueroa decided to confront Walker at a bus stop.

Police said Walker pulled out a pocket knife, leading to an altercation during which Walker cut Figueroa.

During the fight, Walker also tried to stab a woman named Brittany Walker, but he was only able to cut her shirt.

Police said Brittany Walker struck Carlos Walker in the face with an umbrella, cutting him above his eye.

Carlos Walker admitted to injuring Figueroa, but he claimed self-defense and asked police to tell Figueroa that he was sorry.

Police said Carlos Walker left the bus stop after the fight and was stopped about 400 feet away in the parking lot of Ross.
