Wife of former Dolphins star searches for father

Channing Crowder on a mission to find father-in-law

MIAMI – This holiday season, former Miami Dolphins star Channing Crowder is a man on a mission. He is desperately searching for his father-in-law, whom his wife never knew, and her family has lost touch with.

There are toys, toys and more toys, with lots of holiday cheer for kids at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Lauderdale. Behind it is retired Miami Dolphin-turned-broadcaster Channing Crowder.

Channing and his wife, Aja, have two kids of their own. But the club on Southwest 26th Street is their second home. The couple is family to the kids at the Boys and Girls Club.

"We take the time to invest in them," Channing said.

Channing Crowder and his following are generous. But this Christmas, his wife has one big request he cannot fill. She wants to meet the father she has never known, and they need the community's help.

"I know his name is Bruno," Aja Crowder said. "He went to Miami High School."

Channing Crowder tweeted Bruno's picture out to his 10,000 followers earlier this month. They are looking for any leads.

"What's crazy about it is that he doesn't know that I am here," Aja said. "I want to give him the opportunity."
