Boca Raton police said a man woke up to the sound of his truck's engine turning on early Wednesday morning, so he went outside and saw the truck backing out of the driveway. The man jumped on the truck, reached inside and was able to put it in park, but the driver punched him in the head and crashed the truck into another truck parked across the street.

Police said the brothers ran away, but Brandon Bayer was later found hiding in a nearby backyard. A short time later, an employee at Starbucks called police after a sweaty teenager came inside. The teen, identified as Gavin Bayer, was arrested without incident.

Detectives linked the brothers to six other vehicle burglaries and two bicycle burglaries.
