MIAMI – A man is in serious condition after he was shot while trying to break into his ex-girlfriend's house early Friday, Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said.
The shooting was reported just after 7 a.m. at a home in the 1000 block of Southwest Second Street.
Burden said the man was trying to break into his ex's house when he was confronted by the woman's boyfriend, who was armed with a gun.
The boyfriend shot the other man once in the chest, Burden said.
The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
The identities of those involved in the shooting have not been released.
