Victim shot multiple times in Allapattah neighborhood

MIAMI – A man was shot and killed outside a Miami gas station early Friday.

An attendant at the Valero gas station near the intersection of Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 38th Street told Local 10 News that he heard several gunshots about 1 a.m.

Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said about eight shots were fired, and responding officers found the victim lying on the sidewalk.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Nizer Mohamed, who works at the Valero gas station, told Local 10 News reporter Sanela Sabovic that he heard about 20 or 30 shots. Mohamed said the man regularly came to the gas station.

"Yeah, I know this guy," he said. "He went to school with my kids."

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
