HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Authorities were called to Polk Street and North Lake Drive in Hollywood Wednesday morning after reports of a barge sinking in the area.
Sky 10 was above the scene shortly before 7:30 a.m. and saw a crane on the barge listing to one side.
Four Hollywood police officers were at the scene, along with a Fire Rescue truck.
The owner of the barge told Local 10 News reporter Jenise Fernandez that he received a call from the groundskeeper at the marina Wednesday morning, who told him that the barge was listing to one side.
He said it appears that the barge took on some water and said high tide is making it difficult for to get the water pumped out of the barge.
The owner said another barge will be brought in to take off some of the weight.
