Boynton Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie H. Slater said the 25-year-old victim went inside the store when she realized that she had forgotten her wallet inside her car.
When she opened the trunk of her 2011 white BMW, she was approached by Euvenslada Lopez, who told her not to move, Slater said.
According to detectives, Lopez pushed an unknown object against the victim's side and implied that she had a gun.
Slater said the victim told Lopez to take whatever she wanted and ran toward the Walmart screaming for help.
Lopez took off in the woman's car and was found by police exiting Interstate 95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard. Police chased Lopez for a bit, but called off the pursuit because of bad weather and unsafe road conditions.
Lopez was later found by Lantana police at 320 Pine St.
She was arrested on an armed carjacking charge and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.
