JUPITER, Fla. – A former employee of a doctor who was found dead inside his Jupiter home last July has been arrested, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera said deputies were called to the home of Dr. Ronald Schwartz, 64, in the 9700 block of Mockingbird Trail on July 19 to perform a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they found Schwartz dead inside.

Authorities said the suspect’s home in Miami was raided by investigators in September, where they recovered stolen property.

He was arrested at that time on charges of burglary and theft.

Homicide detectives said they have obtained incriminating statements from the employee that implicated himself and another man in Schwartz’s killing.

The other man is believed to have fled to his native country, authorities said.

The identities of the suspects were not immediately released.
