Polite gunman robs Little Caesars, tells employee his 'kids need Christmas'

Gunman says 'please' during December robbery in Deerfield Beach

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A polite gunman who robbed a Deerfield Beach pizza parlor last month apologized to the employee, telling her that his "kids need Christmas," Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Gina Carter said.

The armed robbery was reported at a Little Caesars restaurant on South Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach.

Carter said a customer and employee who were there at the time of the robbery said the gunman was "very polite." She said the gunman asked the employee to open the safe and "please" give him the money. The gunman then said he was "sorry for doing this" but his "kids need Christmas."

The employee opened the safe, but it was empty, so the robber asked her to open the cash registers. He took the money from three registers, put it in a black backpack and left.

Surveillance video captured the robbery.

Carter said the gunman had a gold grill on his teeth and a mustache.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
