Power outage affects thousands in Pembroke Pines

Unclear when power will be restored

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A major power outage was reported Wednesday morning in Pembroke Pines.

Pembroke Pines police first reported that the outage was affecting businesses and homes on Pines Boulevard, west of Interstate 75 and along Pembroke Road.

By 11:15 a.m., police said power was restored to the intersections of Dykes Road and Pines Boulevard; Pembroke Road and 168th Avenue; and Pines Boulevard and Pembroke Road.

According to Florida Power & Light officials, more than 1,700 customers were affected by the outage.

It's unclear when power will be fully restored or what the cause of the outage is.
