Broward firefighters deal with abandoned propane tank

HazMat units respond to gas burn-off in Coconut Creek

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. – HazMat teams  from Fort Lauderdale and Broward Sheriff's Office handled an abandoned propane tank in a residential area in Coconut Creek Thursday.

As gas was leaking from the 500 gallon tank, firefighters surrounded it at 3500 block of 42nd Avenue.

Residents in the area did not have access to their homes, as firefighters burned off the gas.
