OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Detectives arrested a woman who emerged from a home she had just burglarized thanks to a neighbor's tip and an investigation, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
Oakland Park deputies and detectives responded to a residential burglary happening near the 4400 block of Northwest 19th Avenue, deputies said.
A neighbor saw a beige Hyundai drop off a woman, identified by the Sheriff's Office as Kellen Hamilton.
Deputies said Hamilton was seen entering a backyard.
When detectives arrived, Hamilton emerged from the home with a bag full of stolen items, which she tossed over a fence, deputies said.
Hamilton was taken into custody and faces charges including burglary of a residence, grand theft, cocaine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Hamilton told authorities she was staying at the Plantation Inn at 375 State Road 7 in Plantation. Deputies said after conducting surveillance at the Plantation Inn, detectives found a Hyundai that matched the witness's description.
Deputies said Richard Kittles was seen getting into the car. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and arrested Kittles on charges of burglary of a residence and possession of cannabis, deputies said.
