CORAL SPRING, Fla. – An 18-year-old man was arrested after he nearly struck an off-duty Hollywood police officer with his vehicle Sunday night, police said.

According to the Coral Springs Police Department, three off-duty officers, Mileta Djokic, Justin Lang and Michael McBride, were searching for one of their daughters, who had run away, when they spotted the girl in Christopher Turley's vehicle.

Police said Turley accelerated the vehicle, nearly striking Djokic. Turlic then gave chase until the off-duty officers were able to detain him.

Coral Springs police officers arrived and placed Turley under arrest.

Turley faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
