4 thieves ransack home in Little Havana

Several pieces of jewelry stolen

MIAMI ā€“ Miami police are searching for four thieves who were caught on home surveillance video ransacking an apartment in Little Havana.

The burglary was reported Saturday at an apartment in the 1000 block of Southwest Seventh Street, while the victim, Conseulo Zelaya Videz, 50, and her family were out of town.

According to Miami police spokesman Freddie Cruz, the thieves broke into the apartment about 5:30 a.m. by smashing a kitchen window.

He said they ransacked the home and stole several pieces of jewelry valued at more than $1,000.

The thieves are believed to between 16 and 20 years old.
