POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a series of robberies to customers at ATMs in northern Broward County.

Kinsley Stephens and Jordan McDowell, both 17, are accused of at least five robberies in Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach between Dec. 19 and Jan. 18.

BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said in each of the robberies, the suspects would approach unsuspecting victims at walk-up and drive-through ATMs, hold them at gunpoint and demand cash.

Detectives were conducting surveillance late Monday night at the Bank of America on Federal Highway in Pompano Beach when they saw three individuals loitering in the area. As detectives approached them, the trio ran away.

Stephens and McDowell were caught, but the third person got away.

Detectives said Stephens and McDowell admitted to committing the robberies and said they were contemplating more before their arrests.
