Employees evacuated after warehouse catches fire in Doral

1 person injured

DORAL, Fla. – One person was injured Friday in a fire at a warehouse in Doral, authorities said.

The fire was reported about 10 a.m. at Michigan Drill Corporation at 8405 NW 66th St.

Employees told Local 10 News reporter Jenise Fernandez that they manufacture cutting tools inside the warehouse and one of the machines malfunctioned and exploded, sparking the fire.

Authorities said 35 people who were inside were evacuated.

"I was here within 5 minutes so I got to see it in its full intensity, but it seems they were able to contain it to one bay out of three, so we were very fortunate," building manager Kevin Bidelspacher said.

One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
