MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida City man accused in the Jan. 19 robbery and sexual assault of a woman in a wooded area has been arrested.
Miami-Dade police said Jimmy Howard, 36, was arrested on charges of armed sexual battery, armed kidnapping and armed robbery.

Detective Robin Pinkard said a 57-year-old woman got off a bus at a bus stop at Southwest 283 Street when she was confronted by a man, who threatened her with a knife. Pinkard said the man robbed her of her personal belongings, took her into the woods and sexually assaulted her.
Pinkard said DNA evidence later linked Howard to the crime.
A DNA match was made on Jan. 28 and police arrested Jimmy Howard, 36, who was charged with armed sexual battery, armed kidnapping and armed robbery.
