MIAMI – The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for two missing boaters in Lake Okeechobee, although the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission continues to search for the couple.
John Russ, 72, and his wife, Diane Russ, 62, were last seen in an airboat in the lake.
A friend notified authorities after the couple didn't return from a boating trip Saturday night.
The FWC later found the unoccupied airboat.
A Coast Guard helicopter assisted in the search Sunday.
