Victims confront burglar outside Parkland car wash

Deputies search for man who burglarized vehicles at Rising Tide Car Wash

PARKLAND, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for a man who burglarized vehicles parked at a Parkland car wash earlier this month.

Employees at the Rising Tide Car Wash, 7201 N. State Road 7, confronted the thief Feb. 3 after they noticed he was going through their cars, according to deputies.

The victims were able to get some of their belongings back from the thief, including cash and a wallet.

The thief  is believed to have run from the scene, with stolen cash in his pockets, after the victims went to call police, and he is believed to have jumped over a shopping center wall, and into a residential area, deputies said.

Surveillance videos captured the thief inside a nearby convenience store before the burglary, and leaving the car of one of the victims and placing the stolen items into his pockets.

Detectives describe the thief as a stocky-framed man in his 20s with short, brown hair, brown goatee and a large tattoo on his left arm.

The thief was last seen wearing a black tank top with a green design of the phrase “#TURNT” on the front, baggy black shorts and a black baseball-style cap.

Anyone with information is asked to contact  Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
