Small sinkhole reported in Pembroke Pines

No residents evacuated

A small sinkhole opened near someone's home Tuesday morning in Pembroke Pines, authorities said.

The Pembroke Pines Police Department tweeted a photo of the sinkhole that was blocked off with police tape near the driveway of a home at 2051 NW 84th Terrace.

Workers with Florida Power & Light and Public Works were called to the area shortly before 7 a.m.

According to authorities, the sinkhole is about 4 feet deep and poses no threats to the surrounding homes.

No residents in the area have been evacuated, but the sidewalk remains blocked.
