MIAM-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Five people at the Miami-Dade County Pre-Trial Detention Center were showing symptoms of being high on flakka Tuesday, according to Miami Fire Rescue.
One of the individuals was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, three were treated by medical staff at the jail and one remained in jail.

The Miami Fire Rescue notes that it is possible that the inmates may have been high on another drug. It’s unclear if the men were in the same cell or in a common area.
Toxicology tests are being run in the hospital to determine what substance caused the incident to occur, according to Janelle Hill, a spokeswoman for Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation.
