Man accused of shooting wife before putting gun in mouth

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An elderly man is hospitalized at Kendall Regional Medical Center after he fatally shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself, police said.

According to an arrest report, police were called to the home of Ramon Morffi, 80, Feb. 20 in reference to reports of a man bleeding.

When officers arrived at the apartment on Southwest 137th Avenue and 91st Street they found the apartment door open and Morffi standing at the threshold of the apartment with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face, detectives said.
