HIALEAH, Fla. – Surveillance video captured a man trying to break into a church and bank Friday morning in Hialeah, police said.
The incident happened about 3 a.m. at the Rincon de San Lazaro church and U.S. Century bank building in the 1100 block of East Fourth Avenue.
According to detectives, video shows the man attempting to smash the front glass doors of the church and breaking the windows of two vehicles within the gated area of the church.
The man was also caught on camera attempting to smash several windows in the U.S. Century Bank building located next door to the church.
Police said the man was unable to break into either place, thanks to reinforced glass doors and windows.
The crook is described as a black man between 35-40 years old, who is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red plaid long-sleeved shirt and dark pants.
He was barefooted during both incidents.
