Teen shot in Miami Gardens listed in stable condition

Michael Green, 16, shot multiple times outside home, police say

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy is in stable condition after he was shot multiple times Sunday in Miami Gardens.

The shooting was reported Sunday evening near the victim's home in the 2400 block of Northwest 171st Terrace.

Miami Gardens police identified the victim Monday as Michael Green. Police said he was outside his home when he was shot.

Maj. Ralph Suarez said authorities are searching for at least three people who got away in a red pickup truck that had no license plate.

Green was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokesman John Schuster said Green is not a current student at any Miami-Dade public school.

Sources told Local 10 News reporter Erica Rakow that Green was shot in the shoulder and calf. They said he previously attended Miami Norland Senior High School.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
