Whole Foods evacuated in Pinecrest after safe found outside store

PINECREST, Fla. – A Whole Foods supermarket in Pinecrest was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a safe was found outside the store.

The incident was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. at the Whole Foods at 11701 S. Dixie Highway.

A Pinecrest police representative said customers and employees were evacuated from the supermarket as a precaution and no one was allowed in the parking lot. 

Miami-Dade police's bomb squad was called in to check out the small safe and have since cleared the scene.
