Miami Gardens man accused of beating wife to death with metal pipe

Trevor Clarke, 75, faces second-degree murder charge

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A 75-year-old man from Miami Gardens was arrested Friday after his wife was found bludgeoned to death inside their home, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, Trevor Clarke called 911 on Friday and told a dispatcher four times, "I killed my wife."

Police said they found Clarke at the home sitting on the couch and one officer asked him, "Where is the knife?"

Police said Clarke replied, "No knife. Pipe, pipe."

According to the report, Clarke's wife was found in a bedroom, apparently a victim of blunt-force trauma to her head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and said a metal pipe was found on the bedroom door threshold. Blood was also observed near the victim and on the closet door and wall of the bedroom, police said.

According to the report, Clarke's wife, whom he married in Jamaica, suffered blunt-force trauma to her entire head.

Detectives said Clarke appeared to be incoherent during questioning. He was arrested on a second-degree murder charge.
