2 men attempt to rob group in Hialeah at gunpoint

Robbers drive away in silver Honda Pilot, police say

HIALEAH, Fla. – Hialeah police are searching for two men who they say attempted to rob a group of people who were leaving a Sedano's supermarket last year.

The robbery was reported shortly before 3:30 p.m. Nov. 5 outside one of the victim's homes on West 31st Court.

Newly released surveillance video shows the accused robbers walking together at a nearby plaza where the supermarket is shortly before the attempted robbery.

According to an incident report, the victims -- two women and a man -- were walking home from the store when one of the robbers ran up to them at one of the women's driveway and pointed a gun at them, demanding all their money.

The victims told police that the man told them, "This is not a game. Give me everything you have."

Police said the other man waited in an SUV nearby while the gunman attempted to snatch a wallet from one of the victims.

The woman wouldn't let go of her purse and told police that she told him, "I'm calling the police." She said the man jumped into the SUV as the victims screamed for help.

Police said the men drove away in a silver 2008-2012 Honda Pilot with front-end damage.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Hialeah police at 305-687-2525 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
