Rides tested ahead of Thursday opening of Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Expo

Fair runs March 17 - April 10

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ Rides are being tested Wednesday at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition ahead of the fair's opening on Thursday.

The fair boasts 170 food concessions, which will feature new items this year, such as the funnel bacon on a stick, fire and ice sundae, the big rib, specialty pretzel and more.

The fair will also have some new rides this year, including the KMG Hurricane and KiddieLane Too's elephant-themed ride.

The youth fair runs from March 17 - April 10. However, the fair will be closed March 28 and 29, and April 4 and 5.

The fair will be held at its usual location on Coral Way and Southwest 107th Avenue. Admission at the gate is $14. Children under 5 and adults 65 & older will receive free admission each day.

Admission is also free for all active duty and retired military personnel (with a valid military ID) on opening day (March 17) and each Wednesday.

A 21-day pass is $25 and includes one free souvenir cup.

Parking is free.
