HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police released surveillance video Tuesday that shows a car crashing into a Publix on Monday.

The crash was reported shortly before 3 a.m. along Young Circle in Hollywood.

Hollywood police said the burgundy 2006 Cadillac STS, driven by David Paul-Lamour, 24, of Miramar, was traveling west on Hollywood Boulevard when it got to a curve and crashed into the store.

The video shows the car right before it goes airborne and crashes into the store. Surveillance video from inside the Publix shows extensive damage to the supermarket's storage room.

According to police, Paul-Lamour was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paul-Lamour's girlfriend, Roxana Villa, 20, who also was in the car, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Police said she was wearing a seat belt during the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
