2 schools placed on lockdown as deputies searched for burglars in Cooper City

2 arrests made, authorities say

Two schools were placed on lockdown Thursday as Broward sheriff's deputies searched for two people believed to be involved in a burglary in Cooper City.

Broward County Public Schools spokeswoman Nadine Drew said Cooper City Elementary School and Pioneer Middle School were on lockdown while police looked for the suspects in the area.

A BSO representative said authorities began searching for the suspects at 11:45 a.m. Two people were eventually arrested and the lockdowns at the schools were lifted.

No other details were immediately released.
