Yodan Alvarez wanted on attempted murder charge

KEY WEST, Fla. – A man is being sought by authorities on an attempted murder charge after he stabbed a man in the neck with a broken beer bottle because he believed that the man had snitched on him, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

The stabbing was reported at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 7 on Big Coppitt Key.

Herrin said the victim, Oleimys Clemente, 39, was visiting his sister when he was attacked by two men who live on the same property. Herrin said the men, Yordan and Amaury Alvarez, are related to Clemente's brother-in-law.

According to Herrin, the brothers accused Clemente of "snitching" about something regarding Yordan Alvarez's girlfriend.

Clemente told the men that he didn't know what they were talking about, but Yordan Alvarez struck him over the head with a beer bottle, causing it to break, authorities said.

Herrin said Alvarez stabbed Clemente in the neck with the broken bottle. Clemente also suffered a deep cut on his forehead from the bottle.

According to detectives, Clemente fell to the ground and was kicked and hit by Yordan and Amaury Alvarez.

Herrin said the men ran off after Clemente's sister came downstairs.

A warrant has been issued for Yordan Alvarez's arrest. Amaury Alvarez is also wanted on a battery charge.

Anyone with information about the suspects' whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 305-481-8060 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-346-TIPS.
