MARATHON, Fla. – A Marathon man was arrested Wednesday after stealing fishing gear from his friends, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said the victims returned home March 11 after being away for two weeks and found that all of their rods and reels had been stolen from the living room of their mobile home, along with two fishing belts and three fishing lures.

Deputies reviewed surveillance video from cameras installed on their property. The video showed a friend, Michael Tiziani, 30, breaking into the home through the front door and taking all of the equipment from inside.

Herrin said Tizani admitted to taking the fishing equipment, which was returned to the owners.

Tizani faces charges of burglary and grand theft.
