The emirate, which will be the first Middle Eastern country to organize the event in its more than 150-year history, unveiled the logo Sunday at the base of the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa.
The unveiling was followed up with a tweet from Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who wrote that the circular logo of interwoven gold and bronze loops is inspired by a ring discovered at a 4,000-year-old archeological site in Dubai.
The World's Fair, held every five years, is a chance for people from around the world to discuss and see the business of the future.
The 6-month-long expo is expected to generate about $23 billion for Dubai, economists estimate.
