Fort Myers teen arrested after fatal shooting in Boynton Beach

Miguel Figueroa, 19, of Fort Myers, was arrested on charges of murder and armed robbery.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – A teenager is accused of fatally shooting a man and injuring two others during a robbery Sunday night at a Boynton Beach park.

Miguel Figueroa, 19, of Fort Myers, was arrested Monday on charges of murder and armed robbery.

The shooting happened about 10:50 p.m. Sunday near Pence Park, where the victims had been playing soccer.

Boynton Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said Tomas Pedro, 31, was fatally shot. Two other men, identified as Robert Mateo, 31, and Diego Mateo, 35, were injured.

Slater said an officer and K-9 tracked a possible suspect to an apartment on Southeast Fourth Avenue, where Figueroa was detained and later arrested.

She said detectives are looking for another suspect.
