MIAMI – A man was arrested Tuesday after stealing a motorcycle last week and refusing to stop for a Miami police officer, authorities said.
According to police, Officer Willy Perez was trying to arrest Osniel Machado, 26, early March 29 when he found a 2-year-old boy alone inside a Little Havana motel room surrounded by crack, cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police said Machado fled from the officer and parked the motorcycle in front of the San Juan Motel, 2390 SW Eighth St., before running away.
Officers went door to door looking for Machado, and said they questioned a woman who was known to be staying in one of the rooms. Police said they walked the woman to her room and asked to search it in case Machado was inside. Instead, they found the boy, who turned 2 years old that day, sleeping inside the room.
Drugs were found in the bathroom, on a nightstand and on the dresser drawers, police said.
The boy's mother, Maidolys Oduardo Paneque, 25, was arrested on charges of child neglect and possession of narcotics. She has since bonded out of jail.
The boy was turned over to the Department of Children and Families.
Police said Machado is Paneque's boyfriend, but is not the father of the boy.
