Small plane carrying 2 people goes down in Everglades; both people doing OK

FAA is investigating the crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A small plane carrying two people crashed in the Everglades, about 8 miles Southwest of Tamiami Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said.  

Both people on the Piper PA-28 aircraft,which landed by the Old Cutler Landing Strip, are doing well, according to police. 

Authorities said the pilot reported engine trouble at about 8 p.m. shortly before the crash.

They said the two people onboard were not injured and Miami-Dade Fire Resue did not have to respond to the scene.

The FAA is investigating the crash. 

The plane is registered to Balway Airways, which is based in Miami.
