Davie police said the girl told them that she met Lane-Berry about a year ago on Facebook. She told police that she would periodically speak with Lane-Berry about meeting while he was in Miami-Dade County. She said the conversations were sexual in nature.

Among the conversations, according to a police report, Lane-Berry asked her if she was a virgin and if "she has had her cherry popped yet."

The girl told police that she finally met with Lane-Berry sometime in May 2015, when he tried to have sex with her in his car, but she pushed him off and told him that she didn't want to have sex with him.

In February, Lane-Berry apologized to her and told her that he "wanted to treat her right," the report said.

They met again last month, when Lane-Berry picked her up from school to take her to the beach, police said.

Instead, Lane-Berry drove her to the Waffle House on Southwest 148th Avenue and had sex with her in the back seat, the report said.

The girl, who was wearing a bathing suit, told him several times to stop, but he ignored her, the report said. He later apologized to her and asked to meet her again, but this time police were waiting for him, the report said.
