NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – A part-time baseball coach at North Miami High School has been arrested for having sex with a 17-year-old girl.
Brandon Washington, 31, was arrested Wednesday on three counts of sexual activity with a minor.
According to the police report, the victim told her grandmother that Washington had forced her to perform fellatio on him and that the two had engaged in sexual intercourse.
However, when questioned by police, Washington admitted that the sexual contact was consensual.
Appearing in bond court Thursday, Washington stated that he is married and had just moved back to South Florida after spending the last 10 years in the Tampa area.
Washington, who has been fired since his arrest, had been employed by North Miami High School for only three months.
It is currently unknown if the victim was a student at the school.
Bond for Washington was set at $7,500.
