Firefighters use Jaws of Life to extract 1 after crash

Other passengers treated for minor injures

MIAMI – Miami firefighters used the Jaws of Life to rescue a trapped driver after a crash Tuesday afternoon.

Miami Department of Fire-Rescue firefighters were called to the intersection of Northwest 17th Avenue and Northwest 46th Street to investigate a two-vehicle collision at about 4 p.m.

Crews used the Jaws of Life to rescue a trapped driver, Capt. Ignatius Carroll said. Other passengers in that vehicle were treated for minor injures. 

The driver of the a Jeep that was also involved in the crash was evaluated by firefighters, but wasn’t taken to a hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
