2nd suspect arrested in 2013 Pompano Beach fatal shooting

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office announced a second arrest Wednesday in the 2013 fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in Pompano Beach.

The first suspect, James Toussaint, was arrested soon after the 2013 death. At the same time, an arrest warrant was issued for Jubert Joseph.

Deputies arrived at a home to serve a search warrant Wednesday, and a man jumped out of a window in an attempt to avoid capture, BSO said.

When officers caught up with the man he told them his name was Evylen Alcime, but he was later identified as Joseph.

Deputies said the victim, Rodney Toussaint, was killed in after getting into a physical and verbal fight with James Toussaint. About an hour after the altercation, James and Joseph arrived to the 300 block of Northwest 12th Court and fired weapons, striking Rodney and killing him.

Joseph is being held without bond.
